Grand Canyon’s men’s volleyball team spikes the competition

Grand Canyon University’s men’s volleyball was very good in 2023. They finished the season with a record of 22-8 and lost in the quarterfinals of the NCAA championships.

They have come back on a mission to finish what they started last season. The Antelopes are ranked fifth in the country with a 5-0 record after their dominant win over Linden.

GCU defeated Linden, 3-0, and were better in each and every way. The Lopes won the sets by the scores of 25-20, 25-19, and 25-13.

Standout Stats

  • Kills – GCU 39, Linden 29
  • Errors – GCU 10, Linden 19
  • Assists – GCU 35, Linden 28
  • Aces – GCU 2, Linden 5
  • Blocks – GCU 6.5, Linden 4

The standout players for GCU were Camden Gianni, Cameron Thorne, Jackson Hickman, and Karter Rogers. Gianni led the team in kills with 10. Thorne had eight kills led the team with four blocks. Hickman and Rogers had seven kills each.

Up Next

Grand Canyon will be on the road against 18th ranked UC San Diego on January 19th. UC San Diego is 2-3 on the season after their 3-2 loss to Ohio State.
