Pac-12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff Bashes Leaving Teams After Washington Win

Pac-12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff angered many fans when he bashed the leaving Pac-12 teams after Washington’s Sugar Bowl win. That win launched Washington into the College Football National Championship, the first time a Pac-12 team has made it since 2014.

Kliavkoff commented on this after the win.

“Surreal. It’s surreal.” Kliavkoff said, “It’s upsetting that some of our schools weren’t more patient because if they saw what we were building, it would have paid off.”

He is saying that if the teams that have announced their departure would’ve waited, they could’ve seen how good the conference is. The only issue is that wasn’t the reason teams left. Teams left because the Pac-12 couldn’t get a media deal done to pay the teams more money. When teams like UCLA, USC, Washington, and Oregon head to the Big 10, they will make more money than if they’d stayed in the Pac-12.

Arizona State is one of the teams jumping ship as they will head to the Big 12 next year. Fans are not happy with these comments.

It’s not a great look for the Commissioner, who failed to do the biggest thing that would’ve kept teams in the Pac-12. This is the last week of Pac-12 football.
