PHOENIX — After winning four series against the Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants before the end of May, Arizona Diamondbacks fans hoped the momentum would carry into June.

The Diamondbacks suffered a series sweep to the Miami Marlins on Thursday, falling to 3-10 since that Rockies-Giants stretch. Miami also shut down Arizona’s offense, keeping it scoreless in the final two games of the series. The lack of offensive production, combined with the continuing struggles in the starting rotation, has stalled the Snakes.
The result has been a rapid slide in the standings.

Before this stretch, the D-Backs were 31-24 and bouncing between second and third place in the National League West. Now, they’ve fallen to 34-34 as the San Diego Padres move 1.5 games ahead in second place.
Fans are growing restless, with some demanding better from the players while others want answers from those higher up in the organization.

Getting swept by the Marlins is def a fireable offense!!. #FireTorey #dbacks

The Dbacks need to add a big bat to their lineup ASAP if they seriously want to compete. Waiting on mid tier hitters to get healthy or expecting minor leaguers to immediately be impact hitters isn’t working

Y’all just give up? What is happening to this team? There needs to be some soul searching happening among the players.

D-Backs supporters have always had mixed feelings about where this club stood entering the season. Some believed it had the talent to claim a wild-card spot, while others felt it still needed additional pieces to truly compete.
Despite having dynamic players such as Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte leading the offense, and pitchers Eduardo Rodriguez and Michael Soroka anchoring the starting rotation, one thing fans now agree on through 68 games is that change is needed.

Whether that change ultimately comes through roster moves or a new voice in the clubhouse remains to be seen. For fans, however, it all comes down to one overarching feeling: frustration.
