The Sunnyslope Vikings made an improbable deep run during Arizona’s first-ever open state championship last season.

The team entered the bracket as the No. 10 seed but quickly made some noise.
They won four straight games, including a 23-point victory against Basha in the semifinal.
Sunnyslope then advanced to the state championship to play the No. seed Perry Pumas, but fell short 74-58.

Championship Rematch
They get a chance at some revenge from last season as they face the Pumas (4-2) at home in their next game. The teams will play on Dec. 8 @7 p.m.Â
