Last Time Out
The Phoenix Suns fell 122-119 to the Los Angeles Lakers in their first In-Season Tournament game Friday. In the home debut of Bradley Beal and fourth straight missed game by Devin Booker (right calf tightness), the Suns got out to a really hot start and carried it through three quarters. Once up 14, a 19-2 run by the Lakers got them right back into it at the beginning of the fourth and proved insurmountable for the Suns to come fully back from. Cam Reddish hit four threes during this time for LA. Kevin Durant had 38 points, nine rebounds and five assists for the Suns. Bradley Beal had 24 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals for Phoenix in his home debut.
The Oklahoma City Thunder dropped their second In-Season Tournament game on Friday, losing 105-98 on the road to the Sacramento Kings. The Kings got off to a big lead early, outscoring OKC 34-20 in the first quarter, and never really looked back from there. The Thunder only shot 7-of-30 (23.3%) from three-point range in the loss. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 33 points, seven rebounds and six assists, as he continues his monster season. The 2022 No. 2 overall pick playing in his first NBA season, Chet Holmgrem, had 12 points and seven rebounds in the loss.
