WATCH: Kevin Durant Credits Lakers’ Shot-Making Ability in Fourth Quarter for Suns’ First In-Season Tournament Loss

Kevin Durant once again had to carry the Suns on his back against the Lakers in Phoenix’s first In-Season Tournament game, finishing with 38 points, nine rebounds and five assists in the home debut of Bradley Beal (24 points). However, the Suns ultimately came up short, falling 122-119.

The Lakers went on a 19-2 run when Durant was out at the start of the fourth quarter. The Suns were once up 14 earlier in the game.

Durant said the Suns got good looks during this period, but just didn’t capitalize. However, the Lakers were able to make their shots.

“It’s a make or miss league, and they made four threes to start the (fourth) quarter,” Durant said.

The Suns now move to 4-5 on the season and have dropped their last three home games. Phoenix next plays Durant’s original team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, at home on Sunday night.
