Burn City Best Bets: Odds Released for NLCS Game One

Oct 13, 2023; Phoenix, AZ, USA; Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Jose Herrera during workouts at Chase Field preparing for their NLCS matchup against the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are taking on the Philadelphia Phillies in the NCLS, with game one on Monday night in Philly. Arizona shocked the baseball world with a non competitive series against the Dodgers. To this point, everyone is denying the Diamondbacks, blaming other teams just playing bad. The Sportsbook has the Diamondbacks premiering as the underdog against Philly. When will they learn?

Game Lines

DraftKings sportsbook has the Diamondbacks money line at +136 for game one. Zac Gallen will be on the hill for the Dbacks and in his last outing against the Dodgers, the guy shoved. The Diamondbacks at plus money with the quality of baseball they’re playing is the play here in my eyes. Arizona outscored the Dodgers, who most thought was the best lineup in the MLB, 19-6. A huge part of their series win against LA was the elite pitching. Give me the Diamondbacks in game one. I also love the under 0.5 runs in the first inning. Two high level starters on the hill in Gallen and Wheeler, don’t be shocked if this one is scoreless through six.

Pitcher Props

Zac Gallen has a very low strikeout line in my opinion. 4.5 strikeouts for a guy who sixth in all of the MLB in strikeouts? Ya, I’ll take it. I will also take Gallen’s over 14.5 strikeouts recorded. I know Lovullo already said Gallen and Kelley will be on a short rest rotation, but five competitive innings isn’t too much to ask for.

Batter Props

ESPN doesn’t have a pitcher listed for the Phillies on Monday, but the sportsbook has Wheeler listed, so we’ll go off that. The Diamondbacks have been crushing righties lately, and just baseballs in general. Evan Longoria is plus money to get a hit, and I think the veteran infielder will find a way to gather at least one hit on Monday. Geraldo Perdomo is another player that has hit the ball well for the Dbacks, gaining reassurance from the bottom of the lineup. I love his over 0.5 total bases for plus money as well.

Joe Mantiply credits Paul Sewald for bringing stability to the Diamondbacks bullpen

Andrew Saalfrank has still not allowed an earned run in the majors
