Tonight the Arizona Diamondbacks will face off against a familiar opponent, the Chicago Cubs, at 6:40 pm PST at Chase Field. The Diamondbacks are back in Phoenix after an eight game road trip, where they took three of four against the Cubs. Arizona will be throwing Brandon Pfaadt tonight, who is set to matchup with Justin Steele of the Cubs.

Recently, the Diamondbacks had their way with the cubs in a competitive four game set. Arizona is also coming off of a series loss where they were held to one run twice. In tonights game Arizona is currently the underdog. The Diamondbacks money line is set at +120. With the Diamondbacks coming back home and off of a tough loss, I like their money line. Baseball is a funny sport, and we’ve seen it happen a million times. I also like the over on 0.5 runs scored in the first, last time Pfaadt pitched against Chicago he was hit around a little bit. Arizona is also seeing a guy the faced less than a week ago in Steele.
Pitcher props
With this matchup I’m going strictly off familiarity. Both of these teams faced the respective pitchers so recently, there could be a lot of offense. In Steeles last outing against the Diamondbacks, he struck out six hitters over seven innings. With better timing this time around, I think he will go under the 5.5 strikeouts line. Pfaadt got knocked around a little last time the Cubs saw him, and I think we could see a bullpen game for the Diamondbacks. I’ll take the under on his strikeouts and outs recorded.
Hitter props
Ketel Marte gathered one hit in three at bats against Steele last time they matched up. He currently has a +200 line to go over 1.5 hits, I like it. Lourdes Gurriel Jr to go over 1.5 total bases is another hitter props I like.
