Cardinals’ HC Jonathan Gannon calls for fans to be loud on Sunday

A player gives a fan his headband after the Arizona Cardinals' annual Red & White practice at State Farm Stadium in Glendale on Aug. 5, 2023.

While the small capacity at State Farm Stadium certainly puts them at a disadvantage, the Arizona Cardinals wrapped up their ugly 2022–2023 season ranked 28th in attendance.

With an average of 65 thousand fans per home game, the Cardinals finished ahead of just the Lions, Raiders, Bears, and Commanders.

Not to mention, as anyone who has attended a Cardinals home game can attest, the opposing team has always had no problem filling the seats with their fans in Arizona.

However, this is not stopping new head coach Jonathan Gannon from calling for fans to make noise on Sunday as the Cardinals take on the Giants.

From Tyler Drake, Gannon had a message for the Cardinal faithful: “I want it to be loud when we’re on defense and quiet when we’re on offense. Pass the word along.”

Arizona will be taking on the Giants, who are coming off an embarrassing 40-0 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.

Which means both teams will be playing with a bit of a chip on their shoulders as they attempt to even up their season record.

This will also be the Cardinals first home game under the wing of Jonathan Gannon and Monti Ossenfort.
