Fischer: “There’s Quiet Rumblings of The Idea That Phoenix Could Exchange Chris Paul for James Harden”

There was a big piece that came out earlier today regarding Chris Paul and his future with the Phoenix Suns by Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer.

Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!

According to Fischer in the piece, there have been reports speculating that there’s an idea that involves a Sign-and-Trade involving Paul and 76ers all-star guard James Harden.

There’s the idea of Phoenix exchanging Paul for James Harden, which has quietly circulated around some league personnel since the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago. A reunion between Harden and Durant makes for great fodder, and the bearded point guard could feasibly pick up his 2023-24 player option on the condition Philadelphia trades him to the Suns.

In the report as well, Fischer mentioned that it would be looked upon as a similar sign-and-trade deal that ironically Paul did back in 2017 when he went to go join Harden in Houston.

What makes it a tough sell unfortunately is that Harden has other suitors where he can make more money in the backend of his playing career. There have been reports all offseason long that Harden has been stuck and torn between a reunion back to the Houston Rockets as well as staying with the Philadelphia 76ers under new coach Nick Nurse.

Let’s see how all this plays out but it seems as though the Suns have a big decision to make that could impact not only the free-agent market but the future of their franchise.
