The Suns ended up winning the series 4-1 and are now going to take on the Denver Nuggets in the 2nd round starting on Saturday, April 29th.

The Nuggets, like the Suns, finished their first-round series last night by defeating their opponent the Minnesota Timberwolves by a final score of 112-109. They ended up winning the series 4-1 as well.

Shortly after the game last night, Nuggets star player Nikola Jokic discussed their next-round matchup against the Phoenix Suns. Jokic had nothing but high praise for their western conference rivals.

In terms of the updated odds the Boston Celtics are still the favorites to win the NBA championship at +210 but the Suns aren’t far behind as they’re second at +400.

The Nuggets are sixth at +900 but they do have the back-to-back MVP winner on their team as well as a player that’s top three in the conversation again this year.

Last time these two teams met in the playoffs was 2 years ago in the second round. Back then though, the Suns didn’t have Kevin Durant and the Nuggets didn’t have Jamal Murray or Michael Porter Jr. as they were both injured.

It’s safe to say that this go around will be much different between two of the favorites to come out of the western conference.

It should be a fun series between two of the best starting units in the NBA. Game One will be at Ball Arena and we’ll see if the Suns can steal game one.
