Brennan averaged 2.4 points and 2.3 rebounds in 9.1 minutes off the bench last season. He entered the portal with his former high school teammate at Hillcrest Prep, Malcolm Flaggs, who was injured the majority of last season and did not appear in a game for the Sun Devils.
The 6-foot-10 Brennan played a key role in ASU’s frontcourt depth last season. He was a three-star recruit coming out of high school and set the ASU freshman record for games played (36). The entirety of Arizona State’s starting five last season is already currently in the transfer portal or has their names in the NBA Draft. Furthermore, with Brennan entering the portal, the Sun Devils have lost two players who had strong freshman seasons off the bench, as guard Austin Nunez recently put his name in the portal as well.
In his time at ASU, Brennan proved he could be a solid rebounder, had good footwork, a soft touch around the rim and could defend the post with the best of them. He played the five the majority of last season behind Warren Washington, who put his name in the NBA Draft on April 6. ASU’s other starting frontcourt member, Devan Cambridge, joined the transfer portal the same day that Washington entered the draft.

If Brennan and Cambridge go elsewhere, ASU’s depth in the frontcourt next season would consist of 6-foot-9 senior Alonzo Gaffney (barring whether or not he enters the transfer portal), 6-foot-8 incoming Louisville transfer Kamari Lands and four-star, 6-foot-8 incoming freshman Akil Watson. Washington very well could also withdraw his name from the draft and return to the Sun Devils.
