Murray is coming off a recent contract extension which made him the third highest paid player in the NFL.
Despite this extension, Kyler has not performed as well as many expected. The 25-year-old held a 3-7 record as a starter and averaged a career worst 87.1 QB rating before his injury.
If it is a torn ACL, Arizona will look towards Colt McCoy to finish off this disappointing year. McCoy has already played in three games this season, including Monday night’s matchup against the Patriots.
This is a major setup back for the Cardinals franchise quarterback, but his career has only scratched the surface. With two Pro Bowls and a Rookie of the Year title in 2019, there is plenty to be excited about when imagining Murray’s future with Arizona.
Stay tuned for more updates as the official results will be revealed on Tuesday after further MRI scans.
