Arizona Diamondbacks Friday Recap

How Did It Start

The Rockies took a commanding lead ending the 4th inning ahead 8-1. Then boom, capped off by a Daulton Varsho grand slam, the Arizona Diamondbacks came roaring back to take the lead 10-8!

Corbin Carroll started the 5th inning run off with the 2nd home run of his career on a solo shot. A few batters later Ketel Marte came up to the plate with the bases loaded and drew a walk to cut the lead down to 8-4. A Jake McCarthy 2 RBI single led to Varsho’s grand slam.

Then What Happened

In the bottom of the 6th inning the Rockies on Yonathan Daza’s RBI double cut it back down to 1 run. Then in the bottom of the 7th inning, Elias Díaz tied the game with and RBI double of his own.

The game stayed tied through the 8th inning and the top of the 9th. However the bottom of the 9th inning was a different story.

Carroll and Varsho Made History

Díaz stepped into the batters box with 2 on and hit a walk off 3 run home run off of Caleb Smith to end the game in dramatic fashion 13-10.
