Probable Starters

Friday night to start the series off, Arizona will put Zach Davies (2-4 3.74 ERA) on the mound. He will pitch against German Marquez (8-10 4.86 ERA). The game is basically even according to Vegas, Diamondbacks are a slight underdog at -105 money line. The over/under is set at 10, which is low compared to usual over/unders in Colorado.

Saturday night Madison Bumgarner (6-13 4.83 ERA) will have the honor of starting for the D-Backs. He will be facing José Ureña (3-6 6.13 ERA) for the Rockies. I expect this game to get over 13 runs easily, will be eager to see where the line opens tonight.

Sunday afternoon Zac Gallen (11-2 2.42 ERA) will put his scoreless streak on the line in the worse possible place to do so. Ryan Feltner will take the bump for the Rockies (2-7 5.85 ERA). This will be one to watch as Zac Gallen goes for history with a chance to beat Brandon Webb’s all-time scoreless innings streak for the Diamondbacks.

Trends

The Arizona Diamondbacks have been one of the hottest teams in baseball the last 2 weeks. For this lineup to be able to spend a weekend in hitters paradise could not come at a better time. A lot of these young players are starting to establish themselves and find a groove. What a better way to put that on display than in Colorado.

Carroll and Varsho Made History

The Rockies on the other hand are usually an amazing team a home have kind of lost that edge this season, being more of a .500 team at home. Their pitching staff is falling apart the later into the season we get. While their lineups are desperately looking for an anchor.
