The Snakes will look to capitalize on playing the last place team in the entire MLB this weekend. The Colorado Rockies have only 17 wins on the 2025 season, and the Diamondbacks need to find a way to stack these wins against these lowly ball clubs. Colorado has won the last three of four games though, and are coming off of winning their last series against the Washington Nationals.

Friday night mound matchups:

Zac Gallen will be on the mound for Arizona tonight. Gallen’s last two outings were very similar, ass he was able to pitch into the sixth inning, though gave up six hits and four earned runs in both matchups against the San Diego Padres and Cincinnati Reds. In a contract year for Zac Gallen, he holds a 4-8 record with a 5.18 ERA so far on the 2025 season.

The Colorado Rockies will be rocking with Austin Gomber on Friday night. Gomber was recently reinstated off of the 60 day injured list, and made his first appearance of the season for the Rockies against the Atlanta Braves last Sunday. Gomber pitched five innings while only allowing two hits and no earned runs.

Arizona is fighting every day as they head into the summer months trying to gain some ground back in one of the toughest divisions in baseball. The D-Backs need to rely on their stars and keep their explosive offense alive. First pitch at Coors Field tonight is at 5:40 p.m. PT.
