PHOENIX — While some NBA owners and teams might be very cautious with their players playing internationally in the offseason, Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia is not one of them.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Suns stars Devin Booker and Kevin Durant have the full backing of Ishbia in their quest for Team USA’s fourth-straight Olympic gold medal this summer.
“Just 1,000% support (for) Devin Booker and Kevin Durant,” Ishbia said on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Wednesday. “It’s an honor that they were selected. They want to represent their country. The last thing I’m going to do is ever say, ‘Hey, what about this?’ Go over there, win a gold medal and represent our country.
“I’m gonna probably go over there and watch them, support those guys. That’s what we do. We’re a part of each other’s team, part of each other’s lives. I think they’re having a great time.”

Right now, there is some concern among fans if Durant should still be on the team given that he is nursing a calf strain that has sidelined him for the team’s first three exhibition games.
“I know Kevin’s not playing right now, but he’ll be playing soon, hopefully, and I hope they bring home the gold for the USA,” Ishbia said.
Team USA dominated Serbia with a 105-79 victory in a friendly in Abu Dhabi today and has two more exhibition matches remaining in London (South Sudan on July 20 and Germany on July 22) before heading t0 the 2024 Paris Olympics, which begin on July 27.
Ishbia is also the owner of the Phoenix Mercury, who will have three players in Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner and Kahleah Copper, representing the USA women’s team in the Olympics.
