Copper appeared at Footprint Center just days before she and the Mercury are set to host Team Japan in their final preseason game. She took part in a ceremonial moment before tipoff, knocking down the game’s first shot and drawing applause from fans in attendance.

The appearance is one of many where players from both teams go out to support each other at different points in their seasons. Copper, who re-signed with Phoenix this offseason after the WNBA CBA was approved, has become one of the faces of basketball in the Valley in recent years.

Interleague support has continued to increase over the past several years, with several Suns players also supporting the Mercury during their own postseason run in 2025. Both teams share a passionate fan base that prides itself on backing them and building momentum as each season approaches.

With the regular season approaching, Copper’s presence served as another reminder that basketball in Phoenix thrives on a shared energy between its teams and fans.
