According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, Murray is headed to the Minnesota Vikings on a one-year deal. The move closes a defining chapter in his tenure with Arizona as the organization looks to reshape the franchise’s quarterback outlook.
The deal signals a fresh start for both sides, as the Cardinals have undergone a reset not only at the quarterback position but across the leadership structure of the team.
The 2019 No. 1 overall pick once represented the centerpiece of Arizona’s rebuild, delivering Pro Bowl production and a dynamic dual-threat ability that energized the franchise and its fan base. However, injuries, coaching changes and inconsistent team performance complicated that vision.

With Murray moving to Minnesota, the Cardinals have now completed a significant transitional period within their organization.
The signing also offers the Vikings a gamble on upside while underscoring the volatility of the modern quarterback market. Murray’s mobility and playmaking remain rare traits, making the one-year deal a low-risk, high-reward evaluation for Minnesota.
