According to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand, Kyle Tucker has been connected to the Diamondbacks along with other teams such as the New York Yankees, New Your Mets, San Fransico Giants, Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays.

Tucker had a good 2025 season in Chicago, with a .266 batting average, 22 home runs, 73 RBIs and a .841 OPS. With his prestigious resume, including a World Series with the Houston Astros, he’s looking for a hefty contract.

However, Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro quickly shut the rumor down about the Diamondbacks trying their luck getting Tucker to the Valley.

While the Diamondbacks need to address the outfield, Tucker’s asking price may be a bit too much for the organization to take on. With Alex Bregman still in play and Ketel Marte looking more likely to remain in the desert, adding another star may be more wishful thinking than reality.

Conflicting reports during the offseason are nothing new, but they do highlight how the business operates. With many star free agents still on the market and trade activity slowing, players must communicate with as many teams as possible — or to entice certain teams into making offers by creating the impression of widespread interest.

As of now, Arizona hasn’t made any other significant moves as the offseason continues. With Tucker unlikely to sign with the Diamondbacks, the search goes on for pieces that better fit their vision for the outfield.
