Johnson posted a video to his X account showing a play from the Cardinals’ Nov. 3 game against the Dallas Cowboys, in which he is tackled by Cowboys lineman Tyler Guyton, who slams him to the ground in front of a referee. No penalty was called on the play.
Since the game, the Arizona rookie has missed the team’s last two games with hip and back injuries and his status for Sunday’s matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars remains uncertain.
“Definitely being something I couldn’t really control,” Johnson said to Cardinals insider Darren Urban. “A dirty play, it’s definitely tough. It’s one of those things where I want to be on the field and to go out on something like that. It’s frustrating. Got to keep going, keep the faith and keep doing what I can.”

Guyton responded to Johnson’s post with a simple message.

While Guyton offered only a brief response, his reaction suggested he did not view the play as significant.
Cardinals safety Budda Baker, however, backed up his teammate.

Johnson’s post highlights an ongoing concern among players that officials are failing to call certain plays designed to prevent injuries. Without consistent enforcement of player-protection rules, the game becomes more dangerous and players can end up sidelined for weeks or even the rest of a season.
unnecessary roughness there

Starting to hate these refs

This is what you call prejudice by the officials. They looked down at the whole thing as it happened and did nothing at all. It’s clear the @NFl officials have an agenda in the NFL,and they do five games believe it or not.

The Cardinals have dealt with a significant number of injuries this year, including several to key starters, such as Kyler Murray. Johnson’s injury is another challenge the team has been forced to navigate.
There is no clear evidence linking the league’s broader injury issues to inconsistent officiating, but Johnson is adding his voice to a growing debate.

The NFL has not commented on Johnson’s post.
