Skattebo, a rookie running back with the New York Giants, drew online criticism after being involved in a scripted brawl on WWE’s Monday Night Raw. He is still recovering from a right ankle injury and is not expected to return to the field until next season.
Critics reached out to Skattebo on social media and he responded with a post on X defending himself.
Aye, honestly if you don’t like that I’m having a good time while dealing with a tough time, then just go ahead and unfollow and casually move on. I’m not able to play football and have the fun I’ve been having my whole life so I am doing things outside the box trying to find…

In a video posted by OutKick, Dakich criticized the former Arizona State running back for putting his team in jeopardy by being physical before fully recovering.
“If I were the Giants, I’d say ‘Yo man. You go have fun. We’re gonna void this contract,'” Dakich said. “‘Go get a lawyer and fight ’em.'”
Simone quoted the video, saying Skattebo is simply having fun and for Dakich to stop being a “hater.”

Skattebo has become a national sensation almost overnight. He goes viral for his appearances, including Monday’s, and frequently interacts with fans while streaming. But with his growing following comes increased criticism.
Simone defending him demonstrates not only college football solidarity but also support for someone trying to have fun despite a challenging situation.
Skattebo has shown promise in his limited rookie season after leaving Arizona State, recording 101 carries for 410 yards and five touchdowns.

As the former Arizona State running back continues his recovery and reveals more of his personality off the field, there is little doubt he will continue to share more of himself with fans regardless of who agrees with it.
