The Hank Aaron award is given to one player of each league at the end of the season for their offensive performance. The award is among Major League Baseball’s highest individual accolades. While the winners haven’t been announced yet, Carroll and Perdomo nominated showcase showcases the Diamondbacks’ emerging offensive identity.
For Carroll, it’s about continuing to build on his second-year resurgence after a tough start to his sophomore MLB season. He posted a career high in home runs in 2025, 31, and triples, a league-leading 17. The D-Backs outfielder also secured a 30 home run and 30 stolen base season, the first in franchise history.
Carroll’s all-around performance on offense has helped propel Arizona back into the national conversation and continues to set him up as a cornerstone of the franchise.

Perdomo’s 2025 year has been his breakout, recording career highs in nearly every offensive category. He had 20 home runs, 27 stolen bases and became the first D-Backs shortstop to record 100 RBIs in a single season. The switch-hitting shortstop’s improved plate patience created vital comebacks for the team this season.
The 25-year-old has worked to become one of the team’s most reliable everyday players.

With two young players nominated from Arizona, it reflects a franchise that has begun to find the young talent needed to remain competitive in the coming seasons. The Diamondbacks are beginning to see the results of their investment in player development, with Carroll and Perdomo producing as the team had hoped.
Homegrown talent is difficult to develop and retain, but the D-backs’ belief in these two young stars is beginning to pay off, and could continue to do so in the years ahead. As veterans like Ketel Marte enter the later stages of their careers, players like Carroll and Perdomo are helping pave the way for the franchise’s future.
