In the top of the seventh inning, the D-Backs had a 3-2 lead with two outs, though Boston had runners at second and third base. Red Sox catcher Colten Wong hit a ground ball to third base, and Lawlar bobbled it, one-handed it out of the air, though tossed it over the head of Tyler Locklear, allowing the Red Sox to take a 4-3 lead.

This isn’t the only blunder Lawlar has had this season, and since he has been called up, he has been hurting the D-Backs success. Lawlar has a .098 batting average and in 15 games played has only four hits in 41 at-bats. The top prospect for the D-Backs is struggling again at the Major League level and isn’t showcasing his talents like he did in Triple-A Reno.

Arizona now enters a very crucial stretch as they head to San Francisco for a massive three-game road series against the Giants, one of the ball clubs the D-Backs are fighting to beat out for a National League Wild Card spot. It will be all hands on deck for the Diamondbacks, and they are going to need to eliminate the mistakes at hand if they want to make the postseason.
