PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns are going through many systemic changes this offseason. The hiring of a new general manager, head coach and will eventually a trade involving 15-time All-Star Kevin Durant. However, one of the biggest changes will becoming to PHX Arena, with the franchise expected to have a naming rights partner before next season, according to The Arizona Republic’s Duane Rankin.

After nearly four years, the team announced in February that the arena name will no longer be the Footprint Center. The global materials science technology company still remains a sponsor but lost the naming rights. The building has gone through multiple name changes through the years: US Airways Center, Talking Stick Arena and America West Arena.

The 17,000-seat arena name is up for grabs, with the Suns having complete control on naming rights. The City of Phoenix owns the building but the franchise can choose which sponsor is granted the name of the arena. Since the building is the host for the Suns, Phoenix Mercury, other sporting events and concerts, it is a hot commodity for brands to be a naming partner.
The building will be home for the 2026 NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four and 2027 NBA All-Star weekend, making the naming rights much more valuable.
