The Arizona Diamondbacks have touched down in The Big Apple as they begin a three game road series with the New York Mets on Tuesday.

The D-Backs designated RHP J.P. Feyereisen for assignment and also optioned RHP Drey Jameson to Triple-A Reno. Some questioned why Jameson was sent down to Reno, as there were speculations of what the corresponding move would be.

As suspected, Arizona activated RHP Kevin Ginkel from the 15-day injured list. Ginkel was spotted posting on his Instagram account at Central Park. Ginkel started the 2025 season dealing with right shoulder inflammation, although surgery wasn’t needed.
Kevin Ginkel is in New York with the Diamondbacks.
Looks like Ginkel is expected to return to the Dbacks on this road series with Ketel Marte as well!

Ginkel spoke on the subject to Arizona Sports’s Burns & Gambo:
“When you miss time, it affects everyone. To me, I was like I need to handle this. I felt like our training staff did a great job getting me back. I’m pumped to be back and I’m ready to help the club.”
Starting pitchers:
LHP Eduardo Rodriguez will get the start today for the D-Backs. Rodriguez comes into todays game with a 1-2 record with a 4.40 ERA. E-Rod will look to continue his stretch of decent starts, but will look to get some help defensively and at the plate.
New York will have LHP David Peterson on the mound today, as the Mets will look to take the first game of the series. Peterson comes into this matchup with a 3.29 ERA.
