PHOENIX –The end of the 2024-2025 regular season for the Phoenix Suns sparks the fuse for the franchise for the many changes to happen this offseason. The first one went off with the firing of head coach Mike Budenholzer, with the next expected to be a trade involving 15-time All-Star Kevin Durant. After failing to trade Durant midseason, the relationship between the 36-year-old and the Suns’ front office is unfixable.

Durant is highly expected to be wearing another jersey next season, but many fans around the Valley hope that 11-time All-NBA member stays in Phoenix. However, Durant’s latest post on X almost confirms that he is leaving the franchise, saying goodbye to Forbes Suns reporter Shane Young.

Suns Durant reply to Forbes’ Young:

Young is respected around the NBA media world as one of the best in the business, and it was enough to be recognized as one of the greatest to ever pick up a basketball. Durant’s nice words have a negative connotation for his remaining time in Phoenix. The post reads as a likely goodbye to Young and fellow Suns fans and writers.

The end of Durant in Phoenix will be considered a failure, but not all blame falls on the former MVP. The constant coaching changes and the lack of compatible role players have led the Suns to win only one playoff series with Durant.
