With the NBA trade deadline now only a week away, one thing there is sure to be no shortage of are trade rumors. This season, it feels like the Suns have been at the heart of every one of them.
And they just got added to the biggest one yet.
The latest trade rumors have centered around the Sacramento Kings announcing they would be fielding offers for their star guard De’Aaron Fox. The Spurs are the favorites to land him, but they are looking for some help to facilitate the trade. Meanwhile, the Suns and the Heat have been trying to work out a trade that sends Jimmy Butler to Phoenix for nearly a month and also need the help of another team to make it possible.
Well that seems convenient.
Under this purposed trade, there would be lots of moving parts that seem to fit what every team is looking for.
Suns: Jimmy Butler, Colby Jones
Spurs: De’Aaron Fox, Kevin Huerter
Kings: Bradley Beal, Keldon Johnson, four first-round picks (three from the Spurs, one from Phoenix)
Heat: Harrison Barnes, Tre Jones, Trey Lyles, two first-round picks (Suns)
For the Suns, this would not only shed them of Bradley Beal’s contract, but would also land them Butler to build a new “big-3” with him, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. The Heat clear the locker room or Butler, while adding solid rotational pierces along with some picks. Kings are able to do a soft reboot with the draft capital while also being competitive this year. The Spurs get to pair a young star guard with their super star Victor Wembanyama.
Win-Win-Win-Win
