The 2024 Second Team All-WNBA selection scored 18 points to give Rose BC its first win of the season in a 71-66 thwarting of Mist BC Saturday.

The win is the first for Copper in the Unrivaled League as Rose dropped its first two games of year. This is the second-highest scoring outing for the Mercury All-Star, who scored 24 points in the the team’s inaugural game.

Copper was the first thorn to prick the Mist in both halves, scoring the initial points of the first and third quarters.

Her 18 points was a close second on the team behind Indiana Fever guard Lexie Hull’s 19. Los Angeles Sparks forward Azurá Stevens chipped in 16 points to help secure the win. One of The W’s greatest talents, New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart, led all scorers with 20 points for Mist.

Copper was named a starter for the game alongside Chicago Sky star Angel Reese and Las Vegas Aces guard Chelsea Gray.

The four-time All-Star selection’s stellar showing comes just one day after Mercury teammate Brittney Griner dropped 29 points on the Mist to lead Phantom BC to a win. She only had 10 points in Phantom’s 82-58 beatdown by Lunar Owls BC Saturday.

Griner is testing out free agency for the first time in her 11-year career this offseason. It’s very possible that the two won’t be playing side-by-side anymore; however, they don’t need to be on the same team to beat up on Mist.
