Ironically, the Suns will be in Detroit to take on the Detroit Pistons when the Lions and Commanders lock up at Ford Field. Phoenix’s matchup is scheduled three hours before the Lions-Commander’s 6 p.m. MST kickoff, giving opportunity for the teammates to have a competitively, friendly outing after a hopeful win.
Booker grew up roughly two hours away from Detroit in Grand Rapids, Mich. before moving to Mississippi his sophomore year of high school, where he would be come one of the top basketball recruits in the nation at Moss Point High School. Durant, a proud native of the DMV, reps his hometown D.C. and the Commanders faithfully.
In individual press sessions compiled together by Arizona Republic Phoenix Suns insider Duane Rankin, the two didn’t hold back their excitement about the games being complimentarily timed.
“That game’s Saturday? Oh wow, I thought it was Sunday,” Booker said. “I thought I was going to have to stay an extra day. Even better.”

It will be all business and camaraderie between the two when they take on the Pistons. But when their football teams play each other, it’s war.
Booker and Durant will redirect to each other when their NFL teams play, potentially seeing a friendly wager made between the two.
“Fasho,” Booker said when asked about a potential bet. “Whatever he wants to do.”
“I’m gonna hit him on the side, so y’all don’t even have to worry about that,” Durant said. “We’ll see what happens this week, but I’m excited that we get to play in the playoffs against a great team and we’re actually gonna be in that city. It’s gonna be a good one.”
