This years All-American teams were announced on Monday morning with Arizona State’s Cam Skattebo earning the rare honor of being named to the 1st-Team. Skattebo finished the year with over 2,000 yards of offense for the Sun Devils, while leading them to the Big-12 Championship and a College Football Playoff berth. His incredible season for ASU wasn’t enough though to earn him a Heisman Finalist spot Cand a trip to New York.
Skatt’s Heisman snub was made even more apparent with the release of the All-American team after he finished well ahead of one of the other finalist. Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel was named a finalist for the Heisman, despite only landing on the 3rd-Team All-American list. Despite being graded as the 3rd best quarterback in the country, Gabriel was one of the four players that earned a trip to New York over Skattebo.
Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter earned 1st-Team All-American honors at corner and 2nd-Team All-American honors at wide receiver. Miami’s Cam Ward and Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty both earned a spot on the 1st-Team All-American list as well.
