Trade rumors have surrounded Arizona Cardinals star safety Budda Baker for the past few years.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Baker, now in the final year of his contract, leads Arizona and is fifth in the NFL with 79 tackles this year, his eighth with the Cardinals.
The Cardinals are currently 4-4 and in first place in the NFC West, but severely beat up on the defensive line. Given the circumstances, Baker’s name has been floating in trade chatter once again, as his value could help Arizona address its needs.
Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort commented on these rumors on Arizona Sports’ Wolf & Luke on Friday.
“I’d say don’t believe everything you read,” Ossenfort said. “Budda’s a big part of what we’re doing … not only on the field but off the field and the leadership he provides.
“I think there’s a lot of misinformation that’s out there this time of year, whether it’s pertaining to our players or somebody else’s players. Unfortunately, that’s the world we live in. … Couldn’t be more excited to have Budda with us.”
