Robinson, selected 27th overall by the Cardinals in the 2024 NFL Draft, injured his calf during a preseason game, which sidelined him before the regular season began. His activation fills an open roster spot left by linebacker Dennis Gardeck, who was placed on injured reserve last Friday.

While it remains uncertain if Robinson will see the field on Sunday, Cardinals defensive coordinator Nick Rallis offered words of encouragement, advising the rookie, “Just focus on one day at a time and not the long-term of what you wanted for goals at this point. I know you’re going to be a great player,” as quoted by Darren Urban at AZCardinals.com.

The 6-foot-5, 296-pound edge rusher spent five seasons (2019-2023) at the University of Missouri, where he appeared in 43 games, amassing 112 tackles, 13 sacks, and a forced fumble. In his final college season, he recorded 43 tackles and 8.5 sacks across 12 games, earning First-Team All-SEC honors. Robinson’s standout performance helped Missouri secure an 11-2 record, including a 6-2 finish in the SEC East and a victory in the 2023 Cotton Bowl Classic.

The Cardinals’ defensive line could benefit from Robinson’s power and agility, especially as they cope with injuries to starters Justin Jones and Bilal Nichols.
