Cardinals release two defensive players from practice squad

On Tuesday, the Arizona Cardinals released cornerback Keion Crossen and safety Jason Taylor II from their practice squad.

Keion Crossen, a seasoned veteran, was part of the New England Patriots’ 2018 Super Bowl-winning team. Remarkably durable, he didn’t miss a single regular season game from 2019 through the 2022 season despite stints with multiple teams, including the Texans, Giants, and Dolphins. However, Crossen has faced challenges securing playing time recently; he was placed on Miami’s injured reserve prior to the 2023 season and subsequently released during the offseason. The Cardinals signed the 28-year-old to their practice squad on October 16, but he ultimately didn’t make it to the active roster.

Jason Taylor II, meanwhile, has seen limited NFL action. Drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the seventh round of the 2023 draft, Taylor played primarily on special teams across eight games during his rookie season. Following his release from the Rams on September 10, he joined the Cardinals’ practice squad a week later. Despite the opportunity in Arizona, he, too, was let go without seeing playing time.

Stay tuned for further updates.
