Stockton, son of NBA Hall-of-Famer John Stockton, and Okafor, the third overall pick in 2015, highlight the names in the deal ahead of the Valley Suns’ inaugural season this fall. Okafor and Brooks were two of 14 players selected by the Valley Suns in the 2024-25 Expansion Draft in June.

The 31-year-old, 5-foot-11 Stockton played college basketball at his dad’s alma mater, Gonzaga, and is an eight-year G League veteran.

More on Stockton from the team’s press release on the move: “Stockton played with the G League Ignite in the 2023-24 Winter Showcase where he averaged 6.5 points and 4.8 assists in four games before spending the remainder of the season playing for Arecibo in Puerto Rico. Prior to his time with Ignite, he played for the Mad Ants where he averaged 13.3 points and 9 assists in 22 regular season games during the 2022-23 regular season.”

The Valley Suns begin their first season on Nov. 8 on the road against the Santa Cruz Warriors. Their home opener is on Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. against the Stockton Kings at Mullett Arena.
