According to multiple reports, Kaminsky agreed to a training camp deal.

”Frank the Tank” played three seasons with Phoenix from 2019-22, averaging 8.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists. The 31 year old served as a backup stretch big in a mix that included Deandre Ayton, Dario Šarić and others, and had a role on the team that went to the Finals in 2021. Kaminsky was waived near the end of the 2021-22 season after only playing in nine games due to a knee injury.

The 7-foot, 240-pound Kaminsky was originally drafted ninth overall out of Wisconsin in 2015 by the Charlotte Hornets, where he remained until 2019 when he signed with the Suns.

After being waived by Phoenix, Kaminsky spent the 2022-23 season with both the Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets. This past year, he played in Europe for the first time with Partizan in the ABA and EuroLeague, averaging 9.1 points, and 3.3 rebounds in 15 minutes per game.

New Suns guard Monte Morris posted on X that Kaminsky has “Been hooping too!”

Phoenix’s center rotation this season looks to consist primarily of Jusuf Nurkić, free-agent signee Mason Plumlee and second-round rookie Oso Ighodaro, although none of these three are known to be stretch big men like Kaminsky. Kevin Durant and Bol Bol will offer a face-up game at the power forward position.

The Suns officially begin training camp on Oct. 1 and play their first preseason game on Oct. 6 in Palm Desert against the Los Angeles Lakers.
