Making his mark in Tempe as one of the better defensive linemen in ASU football history, Lawrence Guy has gone on to play in the NFL and win a Super Bowl but has been a free agent since February.

The terms of his contract have not been disclosed.
As a Sun Devil, Guy played three seasons at Arizona State where he was an integral pass rusher on the defensive line. During his time in Tempe, the Las Vegas native accumulated 122 tackles, eight sacks, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble in 35 games (31 starts).
Guy was eventually selected as a seventh-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He has played 12 seasons in the league with the Packers, San Diego Chargers (now Los Angeles Chargers), Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens where he collected 507 tackles, 17 sacks, 10 pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one interception. He was a Super Bowl LIII champion in 2019 when the Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams, 13-3.
New England released him on Feb. 19 of this year. The 6-foot-4, 315-pound lineman spent the majority of his NFL career as a Patriot from 2017-23 and started 12 of 17 games last season, amassing one defended pass and 38 tackles.
Adding a grizzled veteran like Guy is a major acquisition for Cincinnati’s defensive line which has been plagued by injuries lately. Kris Jenkins is dealing with a thumb injury while both B.J. Hill and Sheldon Rankins suffered hamstring injuries vs. the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
With the Bengals in desperate need of a healthy d-lineman, Guy could be the resolution they are looking for with him playing 500-plus snaps in each of the past seven years he’s been in the NFL.
Once the contract is confirmed, Guy will look to make his Bengals debut in a Monday Night Football matchup against the Washington Commanders on Sept. 23.
