The Phoenix Mercury will look to extend their winning streak to three when they face the Dallas Wings in a midweek matinee, and the lengthy injury list they had in the past few games is starting to dwindle.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Diana Taurasi and Charisma Osborne (Lower Left Leg) remain out for the Mercury while Rebecca Allen (Lower Back) has been upgraded to probable after missing Phoenix’s last game vs. the Los Angeles Sparks.
Dealing with lower back issues and ultimately missing the matchup against the Connecticut Sun on July 1, Taurasi is inactive for her third consecutive game. In her 20th WNBA season, the soon-to-be 11-time WNBA All-Star is averaging 16.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
Allen was a game-time decision for the Mercury against the Wings the last time they played each other on July 1, a 104-96 win for Phoenix. Now that she is probable for the third game of the season between these two teams, she will be welcomed back with open arms to the Mercury due to her versatility on both offense and defense. Suffering multiple injury problems in her first season in the Valley, she has been in concussion protocol, and sustained a hip injury during the preseason and a back injury at the beginning of the regular season.
Mercury rookie Osborne has played just two games in her first season in the league, averaging one point, 0.5 assists and rebounds per game before her injury to her lower left leg. She has been unable to play since June 30. After being waived after training camp, the UCLA product became a free agent before she signed with the team on June 13.
The early game between the Mercury and Wings starts on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. PT inside Footprint Center.
