Phoenix Mercury

OUT – F Bec Allen (Hip)

Seattle Storm

OUT – G Jade Melbourne (Concussion Protocol)

Allen was involved in a sign-and-trade deal with the Connecticut Sun in the offseason and took part in the Mercury’s training camp last week before the news of this injury. The Australian native averaged 6.4 points and 2.8 rebounds and played a full 40-game season last year.

As for the rest of Phoenix’s squad, stars like Natasha Cloud, Kahleah Copper, Diana Taurasi and Brittney Griner will all be in Seattle. This will be the first time Cloud and Copper will be available to make their Mercury debuts.

Melbourne will sit out after having concussion symptoms. Last year in her rookie season in the WNBA, Melbourne played 29 games for Seattle and posted 2.6 points, 1.2 assists and 1.2 rebounds per game.

Inside Climate Pledge Arena, the Mercury and Storm will face off against each other at 7 p.m. PT. The game will not be televised locally but could be watched via live stream by subscribing to WNBA League Pass.
