Phoenix Mercury partners with La Morena to renovate basketball court, create mural at CPLC De Colores

The Phoenix Mercury announced a partnership with Arizona native La Morena to renovate a basketball court and create a mural at CPLC De Colores.

Morena is an internationally renowned visual artist, creating some of the most popular murals in Phoenix. Originally from Glendale, Morena has designed the Super Bowl LVII mural in Downtown Phoenix, the Phoenix Suns Culture Wall at the Footprint Center, among many others across The Valley.

CPLC De Colores is a domestic violence shelter serving the Spanish-speaking and Latinx community. It is located in Phoenix, Arizona.

“The Phoenix Mercury are committed to renovating an existing sport court at the shelter and will partner with artist La Morena to create an empowering mural next to the court space ahead of the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game,” according to the team’s X account.
