General manager Nick U’Ren and the Phoenix Mercury front office are yet again completing a move in hopes to bolster their roster.

Allen played for the Sun last year and averaged 6.4 points and 2.8 rebounds in 2023 while compeleting a full 40-game season. In 195 career games, Allen made WNBA history as she became the 10th quickest player to post at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 150 blocks and 180 three-point field goals made ever.
Before this past season, she was a member of the New York Liberty for the first seven years of her career (2015-19, 21-22).
Internationally since 2014, Allen has been a part of Australian National Team. Austrailia and her won the bronze medal at the 2022 FIBA World Cup.
As for Jefferson, she leaves Phoenix after playing 39 games in her one and only season in Arizona. The seven-year veteran averaged 10.5 points, 3.6 assists and 2.0 rebounds per game in the Valley. Jefferson originally signed as a free agent in 2023.
The Mercury’s 2024 WNBA season begins with a battle against the Las Vegas Aces on May 14.
