During Phoenix’s home opener against the Atlanta Dream on May 18, they will be unveiling new banners at halftime, according to a press release.

Currently in the Mercury’s Ring of Honor, Jennifer Gillom, Cheryl Miller, Bridget Pettis, Penny Taylor and Michele Timms will all see permanent banners raised into the rafters above the east sideline of the seating bowl. For players, the banners will have the number they wore and their last name. As for staff, their last name and the number of years in which their tenure lasted will be on theirs.

“The Mercury is one of the original WNBA franchises and it’s important that we celebrate our 28-year history and those who have helped the organization become one of the league’s premier franchises,” team owner Mat Ishbia said via the press release. “We look forward to recognizing the outstanding contributions of our Ring of Honor members and cementing their legacy in Mercury history with these new permanent banners.”

Also during the Ring of Honor celebrations, fans will be able to look at murals of each Mercury legend created by local artists Paige Reesor and Antoinette Cauley alongside the Suns’ Ring of Honor murals. This will be located at the CarMax Concourse on the upper level of Footprint Center.

As for tonight, Phoenix are set to begin their preseason as they play the Seattle Storm at 7 p.m. PT in Seattle.
