NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt: ‘The Cardinals are lining up really nicely’

Finishing 4-13 last season, things are only looking bright for the Arizona Cardinals and their future after a busy offseason that is putting more people on notice.

With 12 picks at the 2024 NFL Draft, Arizona bolstered their lineup and look vastly improved.

When reflecting on what the Cards accomplished at the draft, one of the co-hosts of the NFL Network show “Good Morning Football” Kyle Brandt thinks highly of the team and believes they nailed their picks.

“I am ready for the 2024 Arizona Cardinals,” Brandt said. “I had a soft spot for last year’s Cardinals, I think they were the toughest four-win team I have ever seen… I think they annihilated their draft. They get the Marvin Harrison Jr. pick. It’s great, it is probably the best player in the draft. Then Darius Robinson the defensive end from Missouri, Max Melton from Rutgers, Trey Benson the running back. I feel like when you start to look at all of these picks, it’s like man, the Cardinals are lining up really nicely.”

At the draft, the Cardinals got Harrison Jr., Robinson, Melton, Benson, OT Isaiah Adams, TE Tip Reiman, CB Elijah Jones, S Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, DE Xavier Thomas, OT Christian Jones, WR Tejhaun Palmer and CB Jaden Davis.

Already having Kyler Murray, Trey McBride, Budda Baker, Jalen Thompson and more, the potential for the Cards going forward is promising.

Adding along to the fact that the Cardinals signed nine different players in free agency, time at the bottom of the NFC West might be slowly coming to an end. CB Sean Murphy-Bunting, OT Jonah Williams, RB DeeJay Dallas, LB Mack Wilson, DL Justin Jones, DT Bilal Nichols, DL Khyiris Tonga, WR Chris Moore and C Evan Brown all signed with Arizona in the offseason.

Arizona has not made the playoffs since 2021 with Kliff Kingsbury as the head coach, and the Cardinals have shaken up the roster and staff in the aftermath. General manager Monti Ossenfort has taken over for Steve Keim, Jonathan Gannon is the successor to Kingsbury and the rest of the coaching has seen turnover in multiple positions.

With a stable foundation beginning to be built throughout its organization, Arizona will be destined to make noise in the not-to-distant future in the NFL.

The Cardinals are just a week from starting Rookie minicamp on May 10 as team operations are starting to rev up once again.
