On X (formerly Twitter), the Atlanta Falcons announced that they signed Antonio Hamilton on Thursday afternoon. The contract specifications have not been released at the time of reporting.

The South Carolina State product originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Oakland (now Las Vegas) Raiders in 2016.

Before joining the Cardinals, Hamilton played with the Raiders (2016-17), New York Giants (2018-19) and Kansas City Chiefs (2020).

On Sept. 3, 2021, Hamilton signed to Arizona’s practice squad before being promoted to the active roster later that month. He would then ink two more one-year contracts with the Cards.

In three seasons (2021-23) as a Cardinal, the 31-year-old played 41 games (16 starts) with 122 tackles, 20 passes defended and two interceptions.

Joining the Falcons, Hamilton will reunite with former Cardinals teammate Rondale Moore. Arizona traded Moore to Atlanta for quarterback Desmond Ridder.

During free agency, the Cardinals signed Sean Murphy-Bunting at cornerback. Garrett Williams, Andre Chachere, Michael Ojemudia, Darren Hall, Kei’Trel Moore, Qwauntrezz Knight, Starling Thomas V, Divaad Wilson and Quavian White are also all signed for next season.

With Hamilton’s departure, Arizona will look to the draft as an option to build up that position. The Cardinals currently have six picks in the first three rounds and 11 throughout the 2024 NFL Draft.

During the draft process, the Cards have also held meetings with cornerbacks like Isaiah Johnson (Auburn) and Jarvis Brownlee Jr. (Louisville).
