Chase Field was PACKED for Diamondbacks’ Opening Day

In the Diamondbacks’ commanding 16-1 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Opening Day, Chase Field witnessed a robust attendance of 49,011, marking the highest turnout since August 31st, 2019.

Notably, the attendance for Opening Day eclipsed that of every home postseason game from the previous year, including the World Series, where it reached a peak of 48,517.

Furthermore, compared to Arizona’s home opener against the Reds in 2021, attendance has surged by an impressive 152%.

The last instance of the Diamondbacks recording an Opening Day attendance exceeding 49,000 dates back to 2017.

Fans who attended on Thursday were treated to a glimpse of the new lights installed at Chase Field, as captured by Lina Washington of 12News.

Last season, the Diamondbacks ranked 20th in attendance, with an average turnout of 24,212 fans. President Derrick Hall has already announced a 30% increase in single-ticket sales for this year.
