Devin Booker was instrumental in propelling the Suns to an early lead, marking his sixth 20-point first quarter of the season. By halftime, Booker had already connected on five three-pointers, contributing significantly to the Suns’ lead, which swelled to as much as 21 points at one stage.

Despite entering halftime with a comfortable double-digit advantage, the Suns faced noticeable challenges in their shooting accuracy, aside from Devin Booker’s contributions. Royce O’Neale and Kevin Durant struggled, with O’Neale heading into the break shooting 1 for 8 from the field and Durant 3 for 8.

In the final quarter, the youthful Rockets team began to mount a comeback. A rough patch for the Suns, characterized by 10 consecutive missed field goals and nine straight failed attempts from beyond the arc, allowed Houston to narrow the gap to just six points with less than two minutes on the clock.

But then in the 4th, the young Rockets team began to grab some momentum. Following a stretch from the Suns that included 10-straight misses from the field, and 9-straight misses from beyond the arc, Houston cut the lead down to 6 with less than 2 minutes left.

However, the Rockets were plagued by their own shooting difficulties, finishing the night with a dismal 33% shooting from the field—the lowest by any Suns opponent this season.

Notably, both Jabari Smith Jr. and Dillon Brooks struggled, each making only three of their 11 shot attempts.

Apart from Devin Booker, who led the scoring with 33 points on 12-of-24 shooting, Kevin Durant and Jusuf Nurkic were the only other Suns players to reach double digits, scoring 22 and 16 points, respectively.

Coming off the bench, Bol Bol made a significant impact in limited minutes, contributing 7 points and giving the Suns a +13 advantage while he was on the court.

These teams are scheduled for a rematch on Saturday at 7 p.m. During this game, the Suns will pay tribute to six-time All-Star Amar’e Stoudemire at halftime.
