The team to beat

Regardless of any other team’s play this season, the Pumas (23-6) remain the team to beat in the state. They now have an opportunity to win their third straight title.

Led by five-star junior Koa Peat, Perry has been ranked No. 1 in the state for a large majority of the season.

The reigning Open State Champions have a chance to once again solidify themselves as the best team in Arizona.

They will face the Millennium Tigers (25-4) on Saturday, March 2 at 8 p.m. MST. The game will be played at Arizona Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum.

Millennium has been the hottest team in the state and currently holds a 10-game win streak. This will be a battle between Arizona’s top-two high school boys basketball teams.

Basha fall short

This marks the second straight year that Basha gets eliminated in the semifinals of the Open State Playoffs.

The Bears (22-7) had an opportunity to dethrone the reigning champs but were unable to keep up with the Pumas.
