Following a dismal shooting performance in the second quarter, the Phoenix Suns found themselves trailing for the majority of the game, culminating in a disappointing 114-110 loss to the Houston Rockets.

With Bradley Beal and Jusuf Nurkic sidelined due to injuries, the Suns were reliant on Devin Booker and Kevin Durant to carry the team. Unfortunately, both stars struggled to find their rhythm throughout the game.

Booker concluded the night with a 7-for-24 shooting performance, totaling 23 points, while Durant managed 28 points on 10-for-22 shooting. Together, they connected on only one of their 11 attempts from beyond the arc.

In the absence of Nurkic, Bol Bol emerged as a bright spot, delivering a career-best performance with 25 points and 14 rebounds off the bench. Bol played a pivotal role in the Suns’ attempted comeback during the fourth quarter.

However, as the final minute stretched on, the Suns’ fortunes did not improve. Whether it was missed opportunities to secure rebounds on free throws or sketchy foul calls going against them, Phoenix failed to regain the lead.

The game’s conclusion was marked by Durant missing two critical free throws with just 4.7 seconds remaining. Adding to the frustration, a foul was called against Durant for a pump fake on the second free throw attempt.

Earlier in the game, the Suns had led by as much as 16 points in the first half. However, with limited offensive support from their key players, Phoenix has now faced two consecutive defeats since the All-Star break.

This loss leaves the Suns tied with the Kings for the eighth spot in the Western Conference standings.

Looking ahead, the Suns are set to face the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday, with tipoff scheduled for 1:30 pm.
