Earlier today, Ružička’s name on social media was trending because of a viral clip of him appearing to use drug paraphernalia.

In the video, there was a white powdery substance on a plate, presumably cocaine. Towards the end of clip, he also smoked something else when the camera flipped to his face.

As this gained traction across the web, the Coyotes were forced to take immediate action.

According to the team’s Public Relations account on X (formerly Twitter), they released a statement.

“The Arizona Coyotes have placed forward Adam Ružička on unconditional waivers for purposes of terminating his contract. The Club will have no further comment at this time.”

Ružička appeared in three games with zero points before the Coyotes issued this announcement.

Close to a month ago, he arrived in Arizona after being claimed off of waivers by the Calgary Flames on Jan. 25.
