The specifics behind this decision shift remain undisclosed, but it has been confirmed that Rodriguez will instead participate in live batting practice on a back field.

Tommy Henry, who began last season in Triple-A with the Reno Aces, faced challenges early on. In his four starts there, he amassed a 6.33 ERA. However, following Madison Bumgarner’s designation for assignment, the Diamondbacks promoted Henry.

Unfortunately, his time in the majors was cut short due to a left elbow injury. Initially placed on the 15-day injured list in late July, a lack of progress in his recovery led to a transition to the 60-day injured list, effectively ending his season.

Throughout 16 starts with the Diamondbacks in 2023, Henry posted a 4.15 ERA and ended with a 5-4 record on the mound.

Henry’s performance peaked in his last outing against the Colorado Rockies on May 31st last year, where he delivered an impressive 7-inning shutout, allowing just two hits.

The Diamondbacks are set to face the Rockies this Friday, with the first pitch scheduled for 1:10 PM.
